ANDREAS’S STORY
Andreas Stone Johansson (born 22 April 1981) was raised in Arlöv, a small suburb to Malmö, Sweden. He started playing the piano and singing at the age of 6. His main instruments are still piano and vocals, but he plays guitar and bass and many other instruments as well. He studied music in upper secondary school. Next, he attended a gospel folk high school as a pianist, which ended with a three week long field study, playing throughout the afro American churches in Chicago, USA. Upon graduation, he attended the Malmö Musical University, with Pop/Rock as course focus, which after 4.5 years landed him a bachelor’s degree.
His musical versatility is one of his biggest strengths, allowing him to work and write for a vast variety of musical genres. Today, Andreas is a highly sought after writer/producer on the international pop scene. Being classically trained, Andreas also enjoys writing score music and orchestrating whenever he has a minute to spare besides writing/producing pop music.
To date, music written/produced by Andreas has sold more than 43 million physical copies, worldwide, and streamed more than 1.3 BILLIONS in total. He’s had more than 70 official Japanese (Oricon) or Korean (Gaon) number 1’s and another 10 number 2’s to his name. He’s been awarded with several Japanese Grammy’s, been honored with numerous Gold Disc Awards in different categories. Many of these songs have also topped the ”billboard world album chart”, as well as iTunes Charts in various countries. Some of his biggest Asian accomplishments to date include, the A-side single ”Calling” for Arashi (Selling an astonishing 900.000 units, the single alone, and another 1.000.000 units included on an album. Not to mention their best of album which has sold over 4.000.000 physical copies.), A-Side Christmas single ”Miracles In December” for EXO (Selling more than 750.000 units), 3 A-Side singles for Kat-Tun and and about 25 other singles for other big Asian acts such as ”EXO”, ”Oh My Girl – Nonstop”, ”REIK Featuring Super Junior”, ”Chen”, ”Snowman”, ”SHINee”, ”TAEMIN”, ”TVXQ”, etc, etc. Furthermore, Andreas has also had number 1’s in Sweden / Spain / Polen / Norway / Czech / Denmark, to name a few.
In 2023 he also had 4 songs in Norwegian MGP of which 3 made it to the finals (”Masterpiece – Atle Pettersen” #3rd place / ”Elsie Bay – Living In A Dream” #4th place / ”Eline Thorp – Not Meant To Be” #6th place / ”Akuvi – Triumph”). He also had a song ending on 2nd place in the Belgian preselection for Eurovision losing with 1 point (”The Starlings – Rollercoaster”) In 2022 he also had songs ending on 3rd place in the Eurovision Preselections in Norway, Croatia and Estonia (”Death Of Us – Elsie Bay” / ”Forgive Me (Oprosti) – Mia Negovetic” / ”Elysa – Fire”) In 2022 he also co-wrote/produced the song ”Fade To Black” for Azerbajdzjan which ended up on #16th place in Eurovision in Turin. In 2021 he co-wrote & co-produced the massive European hit song ”Habit” by artist ”Laurell” which sold gold in Germany and was one of the 10th most air-played songs in Sweden 2022. That year he also co-wrote/produced ”Thank You Very Much” which came on 4th place in the Lithuanian ESC selection. In 2019, he co-wrote the winning song ”Too Late For Love” by John Lundvik in Swedish Melodifestivalen which ended up on #5th place in Eurovision in Tel Aviv and also became the 3rd most played song 2019. And in 2018, He co-wrote & co-produced ”Shuffla” by Samir & Viktor which came on 4th place in the finals, and was the 6th most played/sold song in Sweden that year. He has so far landed 6 additional songs in Melodifestivalen. (”Laurell – Sober”, ”Nathalie Brydolf – Fingerprints”, ”Andreas Johnson – Army Of Us”, ”Alice Svensson – Running With Lions”, Marie Bergman & Sanne Salomonsen – Nonetheless”, ”Barbi Escobar – Stark”) and 4 additional songs in the Norwegian Melody Grand Prix ”Raylee – Hero”, ”Raylee – Wild #3rd place, & ”Raylee – Louder, ”Elsie Bay – Death Of Us” #4th place.
Up till 2009, Andreas had also participated in the Swedish television shows ”Fame Factory” and ”Popstars”. In 2007 Andreas, together with current business partner ”Ali Af Atie” founded, held management and booking for uprising Scandinavian superstars ”Kobojsarna”. The only group to ever win the Russ ”Song of the Year” in Norway twice in a row. In 2010 Andreas Stone released his debut album as an artist, entitled ”Inside Out”. In addition to singing every song, Andreas wrote or co-wrote, produced, engineered and arranged the whole album. He also played all the keyboards and most of the acoustic guitars. The album features many well known writers & musicians from Nashville. An American music-journalist wrote: ”Typified by his soulful tenor vocals, organic instrumentation and sweeping emotional melodies, “Inside Out” is a musical revelation that takes listeners back to a bygone era of pure musical craftsmanship, and timeless beauty.”
